After almost three days of uncertainty when the counting of votes was underway, the United States now has a clear winner. There was an unexpected surge in the mail-in votes due to the ongoing pandemic which delayed the entire counting process to a great degree.

Donald Trump, the Republican candidate vying for re-election to the office of the President has however refused to concede. He is now threatening legal action and says that the election is far from over and that there has been a fraud as according to him, his lead suddenly disappeared. He

Joe Biden has crossed the magical 270 mark in the electoral vote system to be elected as the 46^th President of the United States of America. In his victory speech, he said the first and foremost priority that he has is to tackle the ongoing pandemic as the U.S is continuously seeing a surge in the number of cases being reported on a daily basis. He is all-set to appoint a separate task force for the very same purpose.

Joe Biden has received the highest number of votes in the American history is the oldest President (77 years) to be appointed till-date. Leaders from across the globe have been sending in their good wishes to Biden which has further worsened things for Donald Trump to push forward his claims of the election being a fraud. His claim, howsoever holds no evidence.

Joe Biden has already initiated the transition process into the office of the President and has said that it is time to unite and for U.S to heal.  

Furthermore, Joe Biden’s running mate Kamala Harris who is now going to fill in the shoes for the Vice-President is the first woman in the office and not only that she is also the first woman of colour and an immigrant to take up the role. She in her victory speech said that while she might be the first woman in the office, she will definitely not be the last because every little girl who is watching her tonight sees that the U.S is a country full of possibilities.
