Nike recently unveiled a new unconventional shoe and it has been winning over the internet and netizens for all the right reasons. The new show is technologically advanced and is not one that can only be beneficial for athletes, rather it works and caters to everyone.
The shoes are being GO FlyEase and they represent inclusivity in the sports industry and are bringing on a new trend altogether. A trend that is being hailed everywhere.
It is a show without laces and is easy to wear and easy to remove, thereby reducing all the work that went into wearing and removing the shoe.
The designer behind this magnificent shoe is Tobie Hatfield and he said in a statement that he wanted to make a shoe like this for the past three years.
The inspiration behind this shoe is Matthew Walzer. Matthew was a pre-mature baby with under-developed lungs. This led to another rare condition cerebral palsy which restricted his hand movement to a minimum. While he did overcome numerous challenges in his life, he couldn’t wear sport shoes. He only had flexibility in one hand therefore he couldn’t tie the laces.
Matthew had written to Nike addressing his issue, where he mentioned how many challenges he overcame in his life. The challenges no one even deemed possible to overcome. In his early childhood, he was told he wouldn’t be able to walk but today he does that.
But he said that there is one significant challenge that he has not been able to overcome till date, that is, tying his own shoes.
He also said that he wants such a shoe that doesn’t need tying as he wants to go to college and be independent, without making anyone worry about how he’d manage.
This letter got into the hands of the right people who designed this shoe and gave Matthew and numerous others an opportunity to be independent.
As of now, these shoes are only available for select Nike Members, but the public launch of these shoes is under planning and it is being hoped that it will be readily available in the markets by the end of this year.
