The Henley passport index has published the list of most powerful passports for the year 2021 and Japan has managed to top that list.
Even when travel is considerably limited given the pandemic, the list for the most powerful passports in the world has not been deferred. The countries with the lowest of scores on this index are Pakistan with a rank of 107 and Nepal with the rank of 104. Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan have continued to score very low on this index.
The Japanese passport which is the most powerful one allows you to travel to more than 191 countries or destinations without having to be issued a visa or there is the provision of a visa on arrival both of which are extremely beneficial to the travelers as it saves a lot of time not having to go through the visa hassles.
The second position has been taken by Singapore with the index of 190 countries falling short of only 1 from the top place. The third position however at a score of 189 stands tied with South Korea and Germany.
To hold wither of these passports is a privilege allowing you to travel to a host of destinations without visas or with visas on arrival.
The most powerful countries as such the United States, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Switzerland have taken position 7 on this index with a remarkable score of 185.
Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Germany topping the list is a recent feat that has been seen in the past few years. It is quite an achievement as prior to this the top spots were sealed by either U.K or U.S or any of the countries of the European Union considered very powerful in the world.
The association also pointed out that with the world shifting to the new normal and travel beginning to thrive and prosper again, it is expected that the real value that a passport can hold is highlighted again. Global mobility is expected to rise again after being negated by the pandemic.
