The winners of December’s Premium Bonds draw have now been announced.
A man from Stockport who only purchased his winning bond two years ago, in August 2017 is the first £1million jackpot winner and holds £36,000 of Premium Bonds. And a man from Hampshire & Isle of Wight who bought his winning bond six years ago, in August 2013 is December’s second millionaire. He has a Premium Bonds holding of £50,000.
A total of 3.4 million prizes worth more than £98million will be paid out in the December 2019 draw.
For the draw there were more than 83billion eligible bonds.
Winners who has received prizes worth between £25 and £100,000 can find out their earnings via the prize checker on nsandi.com, via Alexa, or on the prize check app.
If you have Premium Bonds and think you’ve missed out on a prize, it’s always worth checking if NS&I has your correct contact details.
Ranging from £25 to £100,000, there are 1.6million unclaimed Premium Bonds prizes worth £63million.
Unclaimed prizes are often a result of NS&I not being told of changes to personal circumstances, such as changes to contact details or addresses.
To reduce the risk of missing out on winnings, you can choose to have any future prizes paid directly to your bank account.
In order to do this, register your Premium Bonds and NS&I accounts online.
Since the first draw in June 1957, there have been 456million Premium Bonds prizes, worth £19.9billion.
All Premium Bonds Prizes are free of UK Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax.
