Advocate S.S. Ahluwalia: Quantifying Performance to Deliver Results

Lawyers play a vital role in our society. Lawyers guide people in a common society about their legal rights and obligations. Not only does a lawyer help society members in achieving legal goals without any mishaps socially or monetarily, they also respect and understand the feelings and emotions of the clients. They provide a perspective of what is right and what is wrong in the sight of Law. Their job is to protect nations and provide support keeping the best interest of the citizens in mind without compromising the Law.

While there are a plethora of great lawyers, one name that stands out prominently among them is that of Advocate S.S. Ahluwalia. He leads the renowned law firm Chambers of S.S. Ahluwalia is a chamber litigation practice based out of New Delhi with branches in the National Capital Region. It is one of the oldest and well-established law practices that is well known for its professionalism, ethics, and legal advice that is both cost effective and efficient. With over 17 years of extensive experience Mr. S.S. Ahluwalia advises and represents clients on a wide variety of matters in the Honorable Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, Tribunals and Appellate authorities including Arbitration Tribunal, National Company Law Tribunal and Prevention of Money Laundering Appellate Tribunal.

In Order for us to be relevant and the most trusted firm we have to deploy and invest in the right tools and technologies – Mr. S.S. Ahluwalia

About The Game Changer

If Mr. Ahluwalia’s professional standing is impressive, his academic background is equally outstanding. He completed his Bachelor’s from Delhi University in Political Science and LLB with Honors. He then completed his masters in Law from the prestigious Cardiff University (U.K.) with a Certified course on International Investment Arbitration from Leiden University, Netherlands. He joined Jyoti Sagar & Associates soon after completing his master’s and it was here that his fondness for litigation grew. He has numerous professional memberships which include the Supreme Court Bar Association, Delhi High Court Bar Association, Bar Council of India, Advisory Board of Delhi Law Times and the NCLT Bar association. Additionally, he has been appointed by Delhi High Court Mediation Center as a Certified Mediator for his excellent mediation skills. He has also been invited by the Indian Law Institute to appear as a guest lecturer in various legal conferences in India, Netherlands, Australia, Greece, and Italy. In recent times, Mr. SS Ahluwalia has been profiled as one of “Top 10 Best Advocates for the Supreme Court Practice 2021” by Insights Success.

Mr. Ahluwalia comes from a family of lawyers. Indeed, he is a third-generation lawyer; both his father Mr. A.P.S Ahluwalia, who was a designated Senior Advocate, and his grandfather, Mr. Kuldeep Singh Ahluwalia, who was also an advocate and operated in the pre independence era, were great lawyers of their time. It was this lineage of advocates that put Mr. Ahluwalia face to face with the legal world from a young age. He was fortunate enough to witness the changing landscape of litigation in India. The most famous rhetoric “right of equal access to justice for all” often fails in real life, and Mr. Ahluwalia was well aware of the fact. Very early on he formulated the belief that the time of a client is as important as that of the lawyers. Thus, believing himself to be the custodian of the society, he works hard and with grit and determination with his clients to ensure they get fair and proper justice.

To Achieve success one has to climb the stairs of hard work, dedication and downfalls – Mr. S.S. Ahluwalia

Success In The Making

One of Mr. Ahluwalia’s favorite quotes is “Success is both relative and seasonal”. Not everyone has the same definition of success, and that definition is malleable and changes with time. For Mr. Ahluwalia, success always meant justice for his clients. That success is hard to come by, because a litigation lawyer has to face the judge, the opposite lawyer as well as manage the expectations of his own client. He spends his evenings preparing his legal cases and updating with legal reporters. When he is not doing that, he reads seven daily reporters to stay up to date about current affairs. He believes that having high billings is not enough, being compassionate, generous and approachable are traits that makes the career of a lawyer fruitful. And even though Mr. Ahluwalia’s firm is one of the best firms in the country, he still feels that creating a legacy like that of his father and grandfather will take quite some time.

Despite his achievements and recognition, Mr. Ahluwalia still feels that he has a lot of roads to cover to transform from a good lawyer to a great lawyer. He aspires to create a legacy like that of his father. In addition to running a very successful Law practice, Mr. Ahluwalia aims to take up more social causes and even teaching.
