The new policies primarily aim to lower the carbon footprint so as to reverse the damage that has been done to the environment and lower the rate of climate change that is at the moment occurring aggressively.
The energy CEO’s have been drafting new plans for this annual year as they have been told to align all their efforts and energy towards a greener path that allows for the environment to flourish.
Joe Biden has ushered in a new era of change where he expects everyone to follow in a search for cleaner energy policies that would benefit all. The shares of the Elon Musk led company Tesla had also gone up given the fact that the new policies greatly support electrical cars that do not harm the environment.
A new benchmark has been set for all the oil and gas industries- to be completely free of the carbon emissions by the year 2050. What is now needed is for each of the company to think innovatively and curate new strategies. Some of the oil industry CEO’s also said that their aim is reach this goal of net zero carbon emission even earlier and if possible, by 10-15 years.
All the people have been appreciating this new move by the administration and all the industry leaders have been more than happy to comply and co-ordinate with the new policies and laws for a greener tomorrow.
A special post has also been created as the Presidential envoy for climate to look at the happenings of the oil industry and to make sure that everything and everybody adheres to the new set of policies. John Kerry, former Secretary of State has been chosen for the role.
